Christchuch City Council's Red Bus service operates a fleet of over
200 modern city buses and coaches.

Red Bus Ltd

Red Bus Ltd is owned by the Christchurch City Council and provides major urban transport service in Christchurch operating a fleet of over 200 modern city buses and coaches, one of the biggest public bus fleet in New Zealand.

Experience in past events with athletes with a disability AWD include providing a shuttle service for the 1998 IPC Swimming World Championships, 1999 and 2003 ISMWSF World Wheelchair Games and the 2003 Boccia World Cup. In addition they provided service for the Invacare World Cup Tennis and the International Wheelchair Rugby World Cup in 2006.

Red Bus also provided a shuttle service for 3000 athletes in the FINA World Masters Championships in 2002.

As in the past when hosting IPC World Swimming and Boccia World Cup, Red Bus Company will be providing ‘kneeling buses’ for athletes and team officials.

Team arrivals

7 days prior to Opening Ceremony when advised of team arrivals, there will be a meet and greet service at Christchurch domestic and international airport.

Pre-event transport to training venue

There will be a Red Buses shuttle service operating six days prior to Opening Ceremony from the city to QEII as per the requirement of the training schedules.
